Henrietta Lacks Mural Unveiling

Join us this September for a community-centered celebration honoring the life, legacy, and global impact of Henrietta Lacks — who lived her adult life in Baltimore, and whose cells were taken without her consent and went on to revolutionize modern medicine. This event centers her story as a person, not just a scientific figure — humanizing her legacy and reflecting on her immortal life.

Hosted by Nosreme Baltimore in collaboration with the Midtown East Community Association, the Lacks family, the Henrietta Lacks House of Healing, and the Henrietta Lacks Legacy Group, this unveiling will introduce a new public mural rooted in community healing, creative expression, and historical truth.

The day will include conversations with mural artist Shawn Perkins, members of the Lacks family, and partner organizations who continue to advocate for health justice in her name.

More event details and RSVP information coming soon.
