The Living Room is where Nosreme's community programming began. On June 30, 2022, in the Garage at R.House in Remington, we set a table and invited Baltimore to sit down together: strangers, neighbors, artists, and friends.

The premise came from Copenhagen — the Danish practice of fællesspisning, shared meals as civic infrastructure — and from Emerson, the namesake we reverse. As we put it that night: let's all get comfortable in our uncomfortableness together. The first Living Room set the template for the pop-up series that followed.

What the Night Was

01 — Gather
Communal dining
We opened the night around a shared table, with a gluten-free, Lebanese-inspired meal prepared by our resident chef, Jeff Lyons.
02 — Support
Art auction
A silent auction of work by local Baltimore artists. Five pieces sold that night, putting money directly into artists' hands.
03 — Play
Throwback bingo
We closed with a 2000s hip-hop and pop bingo game, testing everyone's throwback knowledge with prizes from Canton Kayak Club, Latino Outdoors, and B.Willow.
