“COMING SOON” WICKERHAM & LOMAX · 211 W 28TH STREET · 2026

Three ways AWIP works.

Temporary doesn't mean throwaway. AWIP installations are commissioned, fabricated, installed, documented, and credited the same way a permanent commission would be — at a faster timeline and a lower threshold to start.

A partnership that starts with AWIP can grow into a permanent commission and, eventually, an anchor in our long-term cultural programming. This is how we scale impact across a neighborhood, a portfolio, or a city.

Our inaugural AWIP commission turns the construction fencing at 211 W 28th Street into a site-specific outdoor gallery — a real piece of Baltimore, made by Baltimore artists, while the building behind it is still being built.

YEAR 2026

Wickerham & Lomax are a Baltimore-based collaborative duo whose work blends digital illustration, performance, and place-specific installation. Their commission for AWIP is the first of its kind: a temporary public art installation activating the construction perimeter of a major Remington development through to project completion.

The project is a partnership with Seawall Development and Charm City Buyers, supported by grants from the William G. Baker Jr. Memorial Fund and a contribution from T. Rowe Price. Community programming and a public unveiling will accompany the installation.

From the first walk-through to install.

Four phases. We handle the artist, the contracts, the materials, the permits, the install, and the documentation. You bring the site and the budget.

01
~ 2 weeks
Scope + fit
We meet, walk the site, and confirm AWIP is the right fit for your project. Surface area, exposure, duration, and scope are aligned.
02
2–4 weeks
Artist + concept
We match the project to a Baltimore artist whose work fits the site. Artist develops concept. You sign off before fabrication begins.
03
2–8 weeks
Production + install
We manage materials, fabrication, permits, scaffolding, and installation. You stay informed at milestones, but do not have to manage them.
04
Ongoing
Activation + press
We host a public moment — unveiling, paint day, or community event. Professional documentation, press, and social coverage included.
