Artist Residency · International Partnership

A residency exchange between your city and ours.

Nosreme partners with international arts organizations to pair Baltimore artists with artists abroad. Each exchange produces co-created public art rooted in both cities. If your institution has a public art mandate and an artist to contribute, we'd like to talk.

How the Exchange Works

We pair a Baltimore artist with an artist from your city to co-create public work rooted in both places.

You bring the artist, the local context, and a partner institution in your city. We bring curatorial support, production infrastructure, community engagement, a Baltimore residency placement for your artist, and a public commission documented and credited in both cities.

Who We Partner With

We're open to partnerships with institutions that hold a public art mandate:

Arts organizations
Cultural institutes
Embassies
City cultural affairs offices

How Partnerships Begin

01
Initial conversation
Typically 30 to 60 minutes via video. We learn about your organization, your artists, and your goals. You learn about Nosreme and how we work.
02
Scoping and co-design
If there's mutual interest, we move into a 4 to 8-week scoping period. Together, we draft a partnership memorandum covering artist selection, timeline, budget, and outcomes.
03
Partnership agreement
Signed agreement, public announcement, artist selection begins, and the residency season starts.

Where we'd like to go next

In 2027 and beyond, we're especially interested in partnerships in [X, Y, and Z]. We're also open to domestic exchanges with US-based partner cities.

The right partnership matters more than the right geography. If your organization shares this vision and has an artist to contribute, we want to hear from you.

The Premise

We reverse a pattern that defined twentieth-century American art: Black artists leaving the country to find creative context. We bring international artists to Baltimore as peers — in collaborations that belong to both cities.
